"The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made"(Psalm 145:9).

Most of us will admit to thinking that goodness, including the goodness of compassion, is wasted on some people we know. It seems to us that we are within our rights to exempt such folks from any show of understanding. When we feel this way and have these thoughts it is would be well for us to remember that God is nothing like us. He is totally indiscriminate in his goodness. His compassion extends in equal measure to every human being; no matter how disfigured or unpleasant their personality. This why there is hope for everyone.
