"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world" (2 Corinthians 10:4).

An amazing statement! Think about it. The Cold War saw our participation in an arms race that we nick-named MAD--Mutually Assured Destruction. We thought to defend ourselves with weapons that would leave nothing to defend. Now, we must fight a war against violence and terror. What are our weapons? Let us admit that they are not much different to those of our enemies. Prejudice, racial vilification and cultural imperialism lurk and simmer among us. How shall we fight these evils? Our weapons are not, cannot ever be, those of the world. "My kingdom is not of this world," said Jesus. "Else my servants would fight." Our weapons are those employed by Jesus. Patience, compassion, sacrifice. To these belong the victory.
