"'He saved others but he can't save himself! He's the king of Israel!' Let him

This was said to Jesus by Israel's religious leaders; the nation's pastors and teachers. What does it say about them? It tells us that they subscribed to religious ideal in which the salvation-bearing king would prove his bona fides by saving himself; by putting his own interests first. But they were wrong and Jesus was right. Salvation comes through self-sacrifice. There is no other way. What do the religious leaders of today's world teach?
