God sent Jeremiah down to the potter's house to learn a lesson. Jeremiah saw that the clay on the potter's wheel would sometimes spoil, so that the potter could be seen holding malformed pot in his hands. When this happened, the potter would start work on the clay again; making a new pot. What a powerful image of God at work in the lives of his people! Even though we are flawed vessels, we are still in God's hands, and the possibility of a new beginning is always open to us. God does not discard the work of his hands.
