It is possible to seek value where there is none. Most people live no longer than 70 or 80 years. By existing they are using up strength, energy and opportunity; there's too little to waste. It makes sense to maximize satisfaction. A well known advertisement has the line: "Oils ain't oils." Isaiah says, "Bread ain't bread." There is that which seems to be just what we want--but it isn't. Real satisfactions are drawn from the spiritual realm. It is in the region of the 'soul' that mankind finds that which alone gives peace and joy.
