Then, in order to sanctify his own actions, he offered them as a sacrifice to the Lord. Saul’s attempted ruse is one all men and women are wont to use. We want our own way, and we want to make it into a religion. We do not want to do God’s will, and we want him to approve of our disobedience. God is no fool. He knew what Saul was up to, and he sees through our false religion too.
