The wrong done by other people is always more obvious to us than our own. Nathan had to describe David’s sin to him by making it into a story about someone else. The fact that we can be so clear-headed about evil in other people, shows that we know better than we care to admit –to ourselves—what should or should not be done. We need the straight testimony of other people in order to face the truth about ourselves. We are part of what is wrong with the world.
