Some Sadducees who rejected the resurrection teaching, had presented Jesus with what they thought were implicit difficulties with the doctrine. Jesus showed that they were on the wrong side of the question. They approached it from the side of death itself. Jesus demonstrated that God is not where death is; he dwells in life. Arguments about the mechanics of resurrection are irrelevant since the saints--whether alive or dead--are alive unto God; just like the patriarchs.
