There is absolutely no point in trying to convince a person who is in pain or trouble of some kind, that his ordeal is light, or that it is only temporary. When I am suffering, I don't want to hear a rationale for my ordeal; I want human kindness, presence and empathy. Ultimately, the only succor in affliction comes from confidence in an ultimate devotion; a love that will not let me go.
