Many in the world do not know that God is compassionate. But Jonah knew, because he had experience of God's kindness. Notwithstanding, he did not want to be an agent of it. He wanted to disassociate himself from God's wild, extravagant mercies. How amazing that God didn't disassociate from Jonah!
