These rhetorical questions expect to be answered with an emphatic no! Religion's forms can never suffice in lieu of its substance. Where a genuine relationship with God is lacking, the devotee ups the ante by multiplying liturgical exercises or manufacturing more extreme offerings. This is paganism. God is not impressed with reverential antics which are only forms of self-worship.
