What's so wrong with putting one's trust in humankind? A creature that is able to building space ships and do brain surgery is not too shabby right? Well, not really. Space travel and neuro-surgery represent one side of the picture only. The other side has the Holocaust, Hiroshima, Syria etc. in it. Man is simply not a sufficient integration point for himself. For all our smarts, we are deeply flawed. We need to trust in One who is wiser and truer than ourselves.
