Jesus lived in utter submission to the rule of God, whom he called Father. He walked and talked with God. This invested his humanity with state of being called eternal life. This life is what he shares with his flock. The destiny of Christ and his people is locked together. He 'holds them in his hand.' Accidents, terrors, misfortunes, plagues or disasters may befall. But eternal life is of such a quality that it cannot be touched by any of these curses. They shall never perish.
